💰 Australians reported over 601,000 scams in 2023 - a record and an increase of 18.5 per cent on 2022, costing victims $2.74 billion (yes "BILLION"), according to the ACCC.
📜 New codes are proposed by government which will create obligations around preventing, detecting, and disrupting scams, as well as responding to and reporting the crimes on banks and other industries (Article link in comment)

Here you'll find advice around common scams, including: (1) Romance Scams; (2) Investment Scams; (3) Service Scams; (4) Extortion Scams; (5) Employment Scams; (6) Unexpected Money Scams; and (7) Impersonation Scams - these can occur around property settlements and large deposit transfers (scammers impersonate banks and lawyers so you transfer money to them!)
